From January 1, 2010 all employers covered by the Fair Work Act 2009 are required to give new employees a copy of the Fair Work Information Statement. The Statement provides basic information on matters that will affect employment.

The Small Business Fair Dismissal Code Checklist (the Checklist) has been developed to help small business employers comply with the Code. This tool will assist employers follow the Code’s procedural elements when dismissing an employee and understand when the Code applies.The Checklist should be read in conjunction with the Code.
